This gambeson can be seen in many miniatures that appear in the Maciejowski bible. In these highlights you can see how the high collar is buttoned to the top with fabric buttons and the mittens are attached to the sleeve. It was used as protection for infantry troops and curiously this piece is always represented on troops carrying polearms.
