CHAIN MAIL. Gauntlet, Mail coif, mesh mitten...

Chain mail: Chain-like armor (a type of shirt or long tunic made up of interlocking metal rings, which could be made of iron, bronze, or steel, in which each ring was joined to other links, interlocking). The most common form was four to one, although other types of links also existed. The mail coif was also used, a type of hood with interlocking rings, which could usually replace the helmet, or complement the helmet.
