Made of black velvet and has a cotton lining. The longitudinal seams are reinforced with rods. The corset is laced at the center front and back at waist level. An underlay at the center back covers the space, which would otherwise be left free by tying the laces. The lace strap is slightly elastic, which is very beneficial for the laces and the comfort of use.
