The impact weapon known as a flail developed in the 12th century from the peasant’s flail used for threshing, and saw service until the 17th century.
This medieval weapon with a spiked head is commonly, although incorrectly, often referred to as a morning star, especially the variant with the head connected to the grip by a chain (ball-and-chain flail).
This medieval military flail is designed as a collector's or decoration/display piece, and, besides its quality as a collectible, is also perfectly suited as a prop, e.g. to complete your costume.
