The Spangenhelm: (from the German Spangen, which refers to metal strips, and helm, which means helmet), seem to spread throughout Europe due to Persian influence. Even with its weakness for the sectioned design and reinforcements, it became a very common helmet from the 6th century to the beginning of the 10th century. Little by little the Spangenhelm were replaced by other one-piece bald helmets such as nasal cones, capelinas . and later complete helmets.
